Caps municipal sales taxes on food for home consumption at 2% and requires voter approval for new or increased food taxes; cities and towns already above 2% are frozen at their current rate rather than rolled back. The Arizona League of Cities and Towns calls Prop 316 a “meaningful compromise” on food taxes, that would allow cities and towns to “retain their existing resources, so city services are not negatively impacted.”

Requires local voter approval before a municipal government can use traffic enforcement cameras, which increasingly include automated license plate recognition (ALPR) technology, like that used by Flock. The state government would be entirely prohibited from using new traffic enforcement cameras systems not already in place. Any technology that tracks the movement of cars and people throughout our streets is prone to abuse.

Does not send a dime of new funding to Arizona schools or teachers. Instead, forces schools to cut teacher pay or fire nurses, counselors, special education and other staff, if they don’t meet arbitrary benchmarks made by a political appointee.

Michael Catlett is a reactionary extremist who led Arizona’s push to criminalize abortion after Roe v. Wade was overturned. A conservative lawyer, he was appointed to the bench in the final weeks of Governor Ducey’s term as part of a last-ditch effort to stack Arizona courts before Governor Katie Hobbs could take office. In 2024, he wrote the opinion that handed the personal information of 218,000 Arizona voters over to a far-right group that promotes election conspiracy theories. His deep ties to Arizona Republican operatives suggest that he will continue to use his position on the bench to push conservative policies that hurt working families.

James Morse has a troubling record of rulings against vulnerable Arizonans. In 2020, he was part of a three-judge panel that forced ASU to reinstate a student accused of sexual misconduct — ruling that a lower court should have disregarded the teenage victim’s statement. In 2024, he sided with Kari Lake and a conservative news outlet pushing to unseal divorce records for Ruben Gallego — even though his wife, Mayor Kate Gallego, said that making the records public could put her young son in danger.

Jennifer Perkins has repeatedly sided with big corporations over Arizona families. In 2025, she ruled that a corporation could convert an Oak Creek trailer park into short-term rentals for tourists — locking residents out of one of the few remaining affordable housing options in the Sedona area. In another much-criticized ruling, she authored a decision that shielded a nursing home from liability after an elderly woman was killed on their property. In an unusual departure from judicial decorum, Perkins maintains an active Twitter account, where she has posted repeatedly about her religious views and support for Republican politicians.

Clara Pratte is a member of the Navajo Nation and grew up on the nation in a small town called Lupton on the Arizona / New Mexico border. Her family did not have access to utilities or running water until she was in middle school so this race, to oversee Arizona’s utilities, is personal. Clara built her career on public service and is now a successful small business owner and entrepreneur as well as a mom to two boys. Her career spans decades of successful work advocating for tribal communities and small businesses, including serving under three U.S. Presidents and four Navajo Nation Presidents. Clara is running to lower costs for Arizonans, restore integrity to the Arizona Corporation Commission, strengthen consumer protections, and ensure Arizona urgently harnesses its clean energy potential before it’s too late.

As a social worker, Katie saw what happens when career politicians ignore the real problems families face. Fulfilling her promise to protect Arizonans’ healthcare, in 2024 Katie repealed Arizona’s 1864 total abortion ban, made birth control available over the counter, and protected women and doctors from prosecution. She hammered out a strong water policy compromise hailed as the most consequential Arizona water legislation since 1980—that will create jobs, lower housing costs, and conserve water. She has canceled one billion dollars in medical debt for over 670,000 Arizonans.

Alberto Flores was born and raised in Phoenix in a working-class immigrant family who worked in auto shops. Alberto and his brother had to finish high school online so that they could work full time. By the time Alberto was 16, he was running the shop. Due to his father’s immigration status at the time and the lack of accessible resources in the community, Alberto’s family became subject to predatory loans. Alberto knows the reality that many hard-working families are faced with unfair circumstances. He is running for State Representative to stand up to the corporate interests and politicians making life harder for working families. Alberto is endorsed by Chispa Arizona, LUCHA, Our Voice Our Vote, Sierra Club, Worker Power, Working Families Party, and many other organizations.

Analise graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at ASU and went on to become an investigative reporter. After uncovering government corruption and exposing harmful legislation, she realized she wanted to create policy–not just report about it. Analise was first elected to the Arizona legislature in 2022, and has passed a law to protect construction workers from extreme heat by allowing them to begin their shifts earlier in the day, secured historic funding for childcare, affordable housing, and homelessness services, and was named the most Progressive Legislator in 2025 by Progress Arizona. She is endorsed by AFSCME, CWA, UFCW, UNITE HERE, Sierra Club, and many other organizations.
