Caps municipal sales taxes on food for home consumption at 2% and requires voter approval for new or increased food taxes; cities and towns already above 2% are frozen at their current rate rather than rolled back. The Arizona League of Cities and Towns calls Prop 316 a “meaningful compromise” on food taxes, that would allow cities and towns to “retain their existing resources, so city services are not negatively impacted.”

A one-size-fits-all sports ban that treats kindergartners the same as college athletes and limits opportunities for all girls to participate in team sports. Enables parents who think a kid is on the “wrong” team to sue schools.

Requires local voter approval before a municipal government can use traffic enforcement cameras, which increasingly include automated license plate recognition (ALPR) technology, like that used by Flock. The state government would be entirely prohibited from using new traffic enforcement cameras systems not already in place. Any technology that tracks the movement of cars and people throughout our streets is prone to abuse.

Kelly has a long record of partisan political contributions that raise serious questions about his impartiality on cases involving political issues. He was one of half a dozen judges appointed by Governor Doug Ducey in the final weeks of Ducey’s administration — appointments many observers saw as an effort to stack the bench with conservative judges before Governor Katie Hobbs could take office.

Brearcliffe is a corporate lawyer-turned-judge with a long record of partisan political donations that raise serious questions about his ability to be impartial. Within two weeks of his appointment to the bench by Gov. Doug Ducey, Brearcliffe donated $1,000 to Ducey’s campaign — creating the appearance of a pay-for-play appointment that Brearcliffe has refused to answer questions about. According to reporting from the Arizona Republic, Brearcliffe was the only sitting judge who made contributions to Ducey’s campaign. While on the Court of Appeals, Brearcliffe has donated hundreds of dollars to state and national Republican candidates, including Juan Ciscomani and Donald Trump. Before becoming a judge, Brearcliffe had a lengthy career in which he primarily defended corporations.

Her career spans decades of successful work advocating for tribal communities and small businesses, including serving under three U.S. Presidents and four Navajo Nation Presidents. As a social worker, Katie saw what happens when career politicians ignore the real problems families face. Fulfilling her promise to protect Arizonans’ healthcare, in 2024 Katie repealed Arizona’s 1864 total abortion ban, made birth control available over the counter, and protected women and doctors from prosecution. She hammered out a strong water policy compromise hailed as the most consequential Arizona water legislation since 1980—that will create jobs, lower housing costs, and conserve water. She has canceled one billion dollars in medical debt for over 670,000 Arizonans.
