Planned Parenthood Votes Colorado Endorsements

Kathy Gebhardt is a Democrat running for the Colorado State Board of Education to represent Colorado's 2nd Congressional District. Gebhardt currently teaches education law at the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. Gebhardt formerly served on the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education, District C, and served for 8 years on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Association of School Boards. Gebhardt is running to support public education and improve school finance.

Gebhardt faces only a write-in Libertarian opponent, Ethan Augreen.

Kathy Gebhardt is the clear choice to represent the 2nd Congressional District on the Colorado State Board of Education.

Ellen Angeles is the Democratic candidate running for the Colorado State Board of Education to represent Colorado's 3rd Congressional District to replace the outgoing Stephen Varela. Angeles earned a graduate degree from Colorado Mesa University, and has taught K-12 education across the Western Slope.

Angeles' opponent is Republican Sherri Wright, a former member of the Montezuma-Cortez School District RE-1 school board. Wright has said that the Colorado legislature is "overstepping" its authority in protecting children from discrimination.

Angeles is the progressive choice to represent the 3rd Congressional District on the Colorado State Board of Education.

Rhonda Solis is the Democratic incumbent running for re-election to the Colorado State Board of Education representing Colorado's 8th Congressional District. Solis formerly served on the Greeley-Evans Board of Education, is a graduate of Greeley West High School, and co-founded the Latino Coalition of Weld County. Solis served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Weld County. Solis is running to protect and invest in Colorado's public schools.

Solis' Republican opponent, Yazmin Navarro of Johnstown, is a graduate of the ideologically conservative Grand Canyon University, and is running on an platform of "expanded school choice," and is endorsed by the far-right incumbent members of the State Board of Education who support funding private religious schools at the expense of public education.

Rhonda Solis has a solid record of advocacy for Colorado's public schools and students and should be re-elected to represent the 8th Congressional District on the Colorado State Board of Education.

Axel Brown is the Democratic candidate running for the University of Colorado Board of Regents to represent the 5th Congressional District. Brown is an Army veteran and graduate of the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. A social worker, Brown is running to help non-traditional students and provide support for active-duty and military personnel seeking higher education.

Brown's Republican opponent Ken Montera is the incumbent member of the University of Colorado Board of Regents representing the 5th Congressional District. Montera is a graduate of the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business and a retired retail executive.

We recommend Axel Brown to bring a renewed focus on service members, veterans and non-traditional students to the CU Board of Regents.

Elliott Hood the Democratic candidate running for an at-large (statewide) seat on the University of Colorado Board of Regents. Hood is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. Hood currently serves on the Boulder Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Hood is a former fifth-grade teacher who became an attorney for school districts, involved in litigation to defend COVID-19 safety measures and protections against discrimination. Hood served as vice chairman of the Colorado Disability Funding Committee. Hood is running to keep the CU system affordable and fight for the rights of campus workers.

Hood's Republican opponent Eric Rinard is an engineer and graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, and serves as a board member at the Aspen Ridge Preparatory School charter school in Erie.

Elliott Hood is the recommended progressive choice to serve statewide on the University of Colorado Board of Regents.

Democrat Cole Buerger is running to represent Colorado Senate District 5. As a Western Slope native, 5th generation rancher, and long-time resident of Glenwood Springs, Buerger will champion rural communities struggling with the economy, growth, and Western Slope water. Buerger is a dedicated community member, serving on the Garfield County Planning and Zoning Board, the Middle Colorado Watershed Council, and Colorado River Valley Economic Development Partnership.

As a business owner himself, Buerger will champion economic development to helping small businesses grow. Buerger will focus will on increasing funding for rural infrastructure and to help build natural disaster resilience from wildfires. He will to work to lower the cost of living, and fight to protect civil rights and public land.

Buerger is running against Republican Marc Catlin - the current State Representative for House District 58. Catlin has voted against environmental regulations and gun safety measures.

Cole Buerger is the progressive choice for Colorado Senate District 5.

Vivian Smotherman is running for Colorado's 6th Senate District. She is a Navy veteran, former farmer, and oil field worker.

Smotherman's priorities include addressing the housing crisis, improving rural healthcare access, and public education. As a former farmer herself, Smotherman is committed to sustainable agricultural growth. Smotherman has pledged to champion abortion rights and protect access to reproductive care in the legislature. Smotherman would make history as the first openly trans legislator in the Colorado Senate.

Anti-abortion former coal miner Republican Senator Cleave Simpson is running for re-election in Colorado Senate District 6. Simpson voted against capping the consumer price for insulin despite a high rate of diabetes in Senate District 6, and later voted against capping the price of EpiPens. Simpson also voted against numerous wildfire prevention bills.

Rep. Marc Snyder is running for State Senate District 12. For the past six years, he has represented House District 18 at the state legislature. Snyder is an attorney and the former Mayor of Manitou Springs. Snyder has spent two decades leading his community to improve local transportation, health, economic development, sustainability, restorative justice, and military care.

Snyder is a champion for working families and small businesses at the state house, fighting to increase access to affordable housing and create a small business recovery loan program. Snyder is an effective leader in the legislature, working to make Colorado more affordable, environmentally resilient, and safe.

Donald Trump-enthusiast Stan VanderWerf is running against Snyder. Libertarian John Michael Angle is also running.

Vote Rep. Marc Snyder is the progressive running for Senate District 12.

Matt Johnston is running for State Senate District 13. Johnston serves on the Brighton City Council, where he has been an advocate for government transparency and diversity, equity, and inclusion with the Latino community in Colorado.

Johnston will focus on economic development, affordable housing, health care access, quality education, environmental safety, and agricultural protections. He has been vocal about his support of farmers and ranchers and fought for clean water during his time on the Brighton City Council.

Johnston is running against Republican Scott Bright. Bright holds extreme anti-abortion views and has spread fringe conspiracy theories denying the legitimacy of the 2020 election and the existence of climate change. Bright seeks to repeal magazine capacity limits and other common sense gun safety legislation.

Matt Johnston is the progressive choice for Colorado Senate District 13.

Rep. Cathy Kipp is running for Senate District 14. Kipp has served in the Colorado State House since 2019 and is the chair of the House Energy and Environment Committee and is a member of the House Finance Committee.

Prior to serving in the State House, Kipp served on the Poudre School District School Board from 2011 to 2019. She has focused on supporting public education— working to elevate Colorado students for success.

Kipp has championed affordable housing and solutions to homelessnessas well as efforts to protect communities from wildfires. She will continue to advocate for all Coloradans by addressing climate change, prioritizing education, and fighting for working families.

Phoebe McWilliams is the Republican candidate, and Jeffry Brosius is the Libertarian running for Senate District 14.

Rep. Cathy Kipp is the progressive choice for Senate District 14.

Sen. Chris Kolker is seeking reelection to Senate District 16. He lives in Arapahoe County with his family and has served in the State Senate since 2021.

Sen. Kolker will continue to fight for funding for Colorado schools, gun safety, improving Colorado's transportation, and taking action on climate change. He has fought for criminal justice reform and is endorsed by the Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood, the Sierra Club, and several unions. Sen. Kolker joined picket lines in support of healthcare workers and the Service Employees International Union.

Donald Trump enthusiast Robyn Carnes is the Republican running on a platform of election denial and conspiracy theories. Bennett Rutledge is running also as the Libertarian candidate.

Sen. Chris Kolker is the progressive choice for Senate District 16.

Sen. Sonya Jaquez Lewis is seeking reelection to Colorado Senate District 17. Sen. Lewis is a pharmacist, small business owner, and medical advisor. Prior to her election to the Colorado State Senate, she represented House District 12. Sen. Lewis is a proven leader in improving access to healthcare. During her tenure, she sponsored the Child Health Plan Plus, establishing a plan to get health care access for thousands of children across the state. Sen. Lewis is a member of the Latino and LGBTQ+ Caucuses in the legislature and previously served as president of Out Boulder (formerly Boulder Pride).

Sen. Lewis lives in unincorporated Longmont and has been a champion in the fight to prioritize the health and safety of Coloradans over oil and gas operators. She has passed legislation to provide mental health resources to schools, mitigate wildfires, and protections for both seekers and providers of reproductive and gender-affirming care.

Tom Van Lone is the extreme conservative running against Sen. Lewis.

Sen. Lewis is the progressive champion in Senate District 17.

Rep. Judy Amabile is running for Senate District 18. A longtime activist, innovative business owner, and 50-year Colorado resident, Amabile has worked in the House to bring about livable wages for working families, access to mental health resources, and action on climate change.

Rep. Amabile has championed important legislation ranging from gun safety to criminal justice reform— including support for alternative sentencing options for pregnant and postpartum individuals. She supports climate action, working to help transition oil and gas jobs and to incentivize electric lawn equipment.

Unity Party member, Gary Swing, is running against Amabile for SD 18.

Amabile is the progressive choice for Senate District 18.

Rep. Lindsey Daughtery is running for Senate District 19. Daughtery currently chairs the Health and Human Services Committee in the State House. Prior to serving in the State House, Rep. Daughtery worked in family law as a children's advocate and guardian ad litem.

Rep. Daugherty is a leader on education, housing, and health care. She has helped pass legislation that would support suicide prevention and to help law enforcement prevent human trafficking. Rep. Daugherty has worked to strengthen the job force and introduced legislation to help secure workers compensation and aid for small businesses struggling during the pandemic. Rep. Daugherty firmly supports abortion rights and LGBTQ+ rights.

Sam Bandimere is running against Daugherty - supporting conservative causes like the Taxpayer Bill of Rights. Ryan Van Gundy is also running as the Libertarian candidate.

Rep. Lindsey Daugherty is the proven progressive candidate for Senate District 19.

Sen. Dafna Michaelson Jenet is seeking reelection to Colorado Senate District 21. Michaelson Jenet, an award-winning author, previously served in the Colorado State House representing Commerce City.

Michaelson Jenet has been a leading advocate for behavioral health legislation, school nutrition, and protecting children from discrimination and conversion therapy. In 2021, Sen. Michaelson Jenet was the prime sponsor of legislation requiring health insurance policies to cover mental health wellness examinations.

Republican, Frederick Alfred Jr, is running to bolster oil and gas drilling as well as uranium mining.

Sen. Dafna Michaelson Jenet has tirelessly served her constituents and is the progressive running for Senate District 21.

State Sen. Jeff Bridges is a legislator that District 26 — and progressives — can be proud of. In the legislature, Bridges has worked to champion hard-working Colorado families, achieve health care for all, addressing climate change, and supporting abortion rights and reproductive freedom.

Since taking office, Sen. Bridges has supported full-day kindergarten, lowering the cost of health care, ensuring that working Coloradans can receive paid sick leave, and legislation to reinvest money in public transportation.

Additionally, Sen. Bridges has been a leader on many issues including expanding vocational programs, reproductive rights, bolstering small businesses, and a fully funded Colorado Water Plan.

Conservative Republican, Bob Lane, is running to "empower law enforcement" and repeal the state income tax which would cut off funding for the state government. An anti-immigration, anti climate resilience candidate, Lane is among Colorado's most extreme Republicans. Meredith A. Ryan of the Unity Party is also running

Sen. Jeff Bridges is the progressive running for Senate District 26.

Representative Mike Weissman is running for Senate District 28. Rep. Weissman has served House District 36 since 2016. Weissman serves as chair of the Colorado House Judiciary Committee and the Committee on Legal Services.

Weissman is a proven, dedicated legislator who has tirelessly led the way on economic and housing justice, fighting climate change, protecting public education, and reforms to the criminal justice system. He has worked to fight human trafficking to rent price gouging.

Republican, Pedro Espinoza, a conservative law enforcement professional, who opposes gender affirming care and other reproductive freedoms, is also running. Espinoza espouses the extreme anti-immigrant rhetoric of the Colorado Republican party.

Representative Mike Weismann is the clear progressive running for Senate District 28.

Sen. Janet Buckner is running for re-election to Colorado’s Senate District 29. Janet Buckner has long served the people of Aurora and the surrounding communities. Buckner serves as Senate Majority Caucus Chair and serves as Chair of the Education Committee. Prior to serving in the State Senate, she served as Speaker Pro Tempore of the Colorado State House.

Buckner has been a champion for working families - sponsoring bills to ensure that women get paid what they are owed and have their bodily autonomy and reproductive freedoms ensured. She has kept insurance companies honest and, as a retired teacher, is an advocate for better pay for teachers and setting students up for success. Sen. Buckner is a dedicated legislator and clear progressive.

Sen. Buckner is unopposed on this ballot for Senate District 29.

Sen. Chris Hansen is seeking reelection in Colorado Senate District 31. Sen. Hansen is an environmental engineer. A bold and astute legislator, Hansen has worked to fight climate change and stand up for Colorado working families. Hansen has championed Red Flag and Universal Background Check legislation as well as public education funding.

Libertarian David Aitken of the Libertarian Party is also running.

Chris Hansen is the progressive running for Senate District 31.

Sen. James Coleman is seeking reelection to Colorado Senate District 33. Coleman has served in the state legislature since 2017, initially as a state representative.

Working families are Sen. Coleman's top priority. He has fought to make Colorado affordable with an economy that works for everyone and jobs that pay a livable wage. Coleman passed legislation to help high school students succeed, create a $30 million small business startup loan fund, and reform the criminal justice system. He has sponsored bills for racial equity, diversity, and inclusion and helped develop and pass the CROWN Act to stop discrimination against people of color.

Republican Max Minnig is also running for Senate District 33.

Sen. James Coleman is considered a proven progressive candidate for Colorado Senate District 33.

Rep. Javier Mabrey is seeking reelection as State Representative for Colorado House District 1. Prior to serving in the legislature, Mabrey worked as an eviction defense attorney and progressive advocate. Raised by a single mother in Southwest Denver, he has been devoted to keeping Coloradans housed. During the pandemic, Mabrey founded the COVID Eviction Defense Fund, providing hundreds of families with eviction prevention services and legal aid.

In the legislature, Mabrey has been a committed leader, working to expand access to affordable health care, fighting for affordable housing, climate justice, criminal justice reform, and reproductive rights. He has also led efforts to improve public education funding and economic security for Colorado's working families. Mabrey sponsored and passed legislation to lower prescription drug costs and increase access to restorative justice.

Representative Javier Mabrey is running unopposed and is considered the progressive champion for House District 1.

Rep. Steven Woodrow is running for reelection in House District 2. In the legislature, Woodrow is described as a "fierce advocate for the voiceless" and a "tireless public servant." He has served in the State House since 2020. Prior to his legislative career, Woodrow worked as a consumer protection attorney.

During his tenure in the legislature, Woodrow has co-sponsored bills to repeal Colorado's death penalty, allow collective bargaining for state employees, and implement comprehensive police reform. He has also supported tax reform, family economic security, state funding for child tax credits, and Medicaid expansion for postpartum individuals.

Republican Michael F. DiManna, a Donald Trump delegate, is also running for this seat.

Steven Woodrow is considered the progressive choice for House District 2.

Progressive champion, Rep. Meg Froelich is seeking reelection to House District 3. A proven leader on women’s rights, children’s welfare, education, community leadership, and environmental protection, Froelich has served in the legislature since 2019. She has sponsored and passed legislation ranging from public-sector collective bargaining, to law enforcement accountability, to Medicaid expansion.

Rep. Froelich was one of the primary sponsors for the Reproductive Health Equity Act, which made abortion a right for all Coloradans. She has championed environmental justice and has worked to ban anti-LGBTQ conversion therapy.

Republican write-in candidate, Republican Marla Fernandez, is also running. Backing extreme conspiracy theories, staunchly anti-abortion, and opposed to climate legislation, Fernandez has run a campaign based on extreme and deeply racist ideals— having used racist epithets during the course of her campaign.

Representative Meg Froelich is the progressive choice for House District 3.

Cecelia Espenoza is seeking election to the Colorado House of Representatives in District 4. Espenoza was the first Mexican-American to serve as an Appellate Immigration Judge. Espenoza has also worked as an attorney and educator.

Espenoza aims to bring her experience into the State House of Representatives by focusing on affordable housing and the unhoused, climate resilience, and reproductive justice.

Republican candidate Jack Daus is running against Espenoza and is clear in his opposition to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education. Daus seeks to bring about expansion of private education and homeschooling.

Cecelia Espenoza is the more progressive candidate for House District 4.

State Rep. Alex Valdez is running for re-election to House District 5. Valdez has been an environmental warrior who founded a residential solar company before his election to the legislature. Valdez has led the way in working to boost use and access to renewable energy, establish stronger protections from air pollution, and to increase access to electric vehicles.

Valdez has supported legislation on gender inclusive language and prescription-free access to life-saving HIV prevention medications. Rep. Valdez is Co-Chair of the Latino Caucus, serves on the LGBTQ Caucus, and on the recently founded Aviation Caucus. His other top priorities include universal access to affordable health care, affordable housing, and an education system that prepares students for the jobs of tomorrow and pays teachers a fair wage.

"Constitutional conservative" and anti-abortionist Johnnie Wesley Johnson is running against Valdez for House District 5.

Rep. Alex Valdez is the progressive running for House District 5.

Sean Camancho is running for State House District 6. Camancho is an attorney and the son of immigrants. He attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and served four active tours before pursuing his law deegree through the GI Bill. Camancho currently serves in the Air Force reserve.

Camancho wants to invest in blue collar and union workers, support sustainability, and reproductive rights. He also takes a strong stance on stopping gun violence and domestic violence. Camancho will work to support and advocate for Colorado's elderly population, to preserve dignity and affordable retirement for older Coloradans.

Kyle Witter is the Republican candidate running for House District 6.

Sean Camancho is the Progressive choice for HD-6.

Rep. Jennifer Bacon is running for reelection to Colorado House District 7. A longtime educator and civil rights lawyer, Bacon previously served on the Denver Public Schools Board of Education. In addition to her commitment to leadership on school funding, Bacon champions Colorado's working families, public education, affordable housing, and social justice reforms.

She has spearheaded multiple criminal justice bills and focused on supporting transportation, housing, and economic justice for Coloradans. Currently, she serves as Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Committee and Assistant House Majority Leader. Bacon has sponsored bills and advocated for Coloradans with disabilities, air quality protections, and law enforcement accountability.

Republican Tom Swift, who opposes abortion rights and LGBTQIA+ rights, is running against Bacon. Raymon Anthony Doane of the Libertarian Party is also a candidate for House District 7.

Representative Jennifer Bacon is the proven progressive candidate for House District 7.

Lindsay Gilchrist is running to represent House District 8. A Denver native, Gilchrist has extensive experience in non-profit and advocacy work. An advocate on global health, Gilchrist has worked for the Subcommittee on Africa and Global Health on security and humanitarian issues in Africa. She also worked to address the HIV/AIDS epidemic here in the U.S.

In the legislature, Gilchrist will focus on criminal justice reform, child welfare, and climate regulations. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she will work to support Colorado's gay and trans youth and ensure protections for LGBTQ+ minors. Gilchrist will also work to protect immigrant rights in Colorado, having worked closely on immigration with the African Community Center of Denver.

Running against Gilchrist is Republican, Philip Borrelli and Unity Party member, Jesse Lashawn Parris.

Lindsay Gilchrist is the progressive choice for House District 8.

Rep. Emily Sirota is seeking re-election to represent House District 9. Before joining the legislature in 2018, Rep. Sirota helped run an early learning center and worked for the Colorado Progressive Coalition where she organized support for paid sick leave policy.

Rep. Sirota has championed state funding for the Child Tax Credit and increasing the Earned Income Tax Credit. She helped pass universal pre-k, gave relief to working families, mandated the teaching of the Holocaust and genocide in public schools, and had Colorado join the National Popular Vote Compact. Rep. Sirota also carried a bill for a task force to analyze how much money Colorado could save by going to a health-care-for-all system. She recently sponsored a bill to incentivize healthy food options.

Opposing Rep. Sirota is Republican Tom Cowhick.

Rep. Sirota is the clear progressive candidate for House District 9.

Rep. Junie Joseph is seeking reelection to House District 10. Rep. Joseph is an attorney and Haitian immigrant. She is a champion for reproductive justice, gun safety, LGBTQ+ rights, affordable housing, and economic stability. Rep. Joseph has sponsored bills for equal representation in courts, employee protections, and rights for youths in facilities operated by the Division of Youth Services.

Rep. Joseph is running against Republican William B. DeOreo. An oil and gas candidate, DeOreo is also opposed to protections against "identity-based discrimination."

Rep. Joseph is the progressive legislator for House District 10.

Rep. Dr. Karen McCormick is running for reelection in House District 11. Rep. McCormick is a long time Longmont resident and veterinarian who ran her own small vet practice for 16 years. As a vet, she is concerned with animal welfare ranging from house pets to endangered species at risk due to climate change. She volunteered with Citizen’s Climate Lobby to promote bipartisan solutions and climate action.

In the House, Rep. McCormick serves as the Chair of the Agriculture, Water & Natural Resources Committee. She has led legislation on water conservation and animal welfare. Additionally, Rep. McCormick has sponsored bills for carbon regulation, universal healthcare, and research into gender affirming healthcare.

Anti-immigrant and anti-abortion conservative extremist Kathy Reeves is the Republican running for House District 11.

Rep. McCormick has shown herself to be the representative House District 11 needs and is the progressive choice for this seat.

Rep. Kyle Brown is running for reelection to represent House District 12. Rep. Brown was elected to this seat in 2022. He has a PhD in Genetics, served as a senior advisor for U.S Senators and governors, and sat on the Louisville City Council. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rep. Brown served as an advisor for both the Colorado Dept. of Public Safety and the Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment to help create a state testing strategy.

As proven progressive, Rep. Brown has been an outspoken leader in the Marshall Fire recovery effort. Rep. Brown is a fierce advocate for accessible and affordable healthcare. He designed and implemented CO’s public option program to provide free healthcare for low income communities and immigrants. He has continuously defended the Affordable Care Act and supports the expansion of a “Medicare for all.” He has passed prohibitions on assault weapons and assisted the creation of Louisville’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion task force.

Opposing Rep. Brown is Republican candidate Mark Milliman. Milliman is a strong supporter of TABOR (Taxpayers Bill of Rights), repealing property tax, and “less government regulation.”

Rep. Brown is the progressive candidate running for House District 12.

Speaker of the House Julie McCluskie is running for her fourth term to represent Colorado House District 13. Rep. McCluskie’s background assisting local schools with mental health and community engagement has informed her important work at the Capitol where she has helped pass numerous education bills. Her successes include increasing school funding, developing the state’s first Department of Early Childhood, and a nicotine tax that will provide funding for rural schools. She recently sponsored a bill for the creation of a modernized approach to funding public education.

Running against Rep. McCluskie is Republican Dave Williams (a different Dave Williams than the controversial head of the Colorado GOP). Williams is a "freedom from government" conservative attempting to unseat Speaker McCluskie.

Rep. McCluskie is the progressive candidate running for House District 13.

Rep. Stephanie Vigil is running for reelection for Colorado House District 16. Rep. Vigil has experienced poverty, child abuse, and disability which served as a catalyst for her to run for office. Therefore, Rep. Vigil has prioritized climate and energy, education, and housing as some of her key issues. Rep. Vigil has sponsored and supported legislation for “Greenhouse Gas Pollution Reduction” road map, getting Colorado teachers fair wages and resources, and forwarding legislation that will level the power between renters and landlords. Rep. Vigil was a major proponent of successful legislation promoting transparency and fairness for rideshare and delivery drivers.

Rep. Vigil has sponsored bills to support veterans, the use of chosen names for LGBTQ+ youth, public school funding, and access to reproductive healthcare. Rep. Vigil has proven to support and amplify some of the key issues identified by many progressive voters.

Opposing Rep. Vigil is challenger Republican, Rebecca Keltie. Keltie believes in expanding the size and power of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), weakening Colorado's gun safety laws, and undermining public education through diversion of funds away from neighborhood schools.

Rep. Stephanie Vigil has proven to be a progressive leader for District 16.

Amy T. Paschal is running for House District 18. Paschal is a software engineer and mother of two. Paschal is running to increase the affordability and accessibility of healthcare in the United States and stop medical bankruptcy. She is also seeking economic justice solutions that serve working Coloradans. Paschal is committed to advancing reproductive freedom, education funding, and developing infrastructure in Colorado. She is a Gun Sense Candidate endorsed by Moms Demand Action.

Republican, James R. Boelens Jr. is also running. He opposes large scale infrastructure projects such as highways expansions.

Amy Paschal is the progressive voice for House District 18.

Jillaire McMillan is a long time Weld county resident running to be represent House District 19. McMillan is a small business owner and mom. She has been extremely active in small scale local politics as president of school PTAs and as President of the High School Education Foundation. McMillan is heavily involved in nonpartisan political activism for the support of children and students. She seeks to expand public transportation and prevent gun violence. McMillan will work for accessible healthcare, medical privacy, reproductive freedoms, and expanding Medicaid.

Oil and gas enthusiast, Dan Woog is the Republican running for HD 19. Woog has stated that police reform programs are “irresponsible" and believes in vouchers and school choice. Woog has been staunch in his opposition to gun-violence prevention and belief in the need to expand ICE.

Jillaire McMIllan is the progressive choice for House District 19.

Majority Leader Monica Duran is running for reelection to House District 23. As a House Representative, Rep. Duran has championed support for domestic violence survivors and working families. Rep. Duran has worked to pass gun safety legislation in Colorado. Rep. Duran believes in helping teachers and students to access the adequate resources and support needed. She also believes in expanding access to health care and protecting reproductive rights.

Republican Cory Ohnesorge is also running for House District 23. Ohnsegore is a right-wing conspiracy theorist running on an anti-immigration platform. Ohnesorge also wants to repeal vote-by-mail and absentee voting in Colorado.

Rep. Monica Duran is a proven progressive voice for District 23.

Lisa Feret is running to represent Colorado House District 24. Feret is a US Air Force veteran and social worker who has done significant work in disaster relieve and immigrant/refugee services. She currently works for the State of Colorado as a social worker and is an active member of the boards for The Community Table, Foothills Regional Housing Corp, DRCOG, Housing Advisory Committee, Jefferson County Community Corrections Board, and Human Services Advisory Committee.

Feret is an advocate for both crime reduction and law enforcement reform. Having served in the Military Police, Feret brings an important perspective to the matter. She supports alternative approaches to police action such as early intervention, the mental health co-response model, and solving route causes of crime. She believes in furthering healthcare access for all, green policies, and supporting small businesses.

Opposing Feret is Gwen Henderson. Henderson is an anti-LGBTQ+ extremist who supports vouchers and the "rights" of an individual parent to stipulate what children can and should be taught in schools. She is a conservative TABOR supporter seeking to cut "social welfare projects."

Lisa Feret is the progressive choice for House District 24.

Rep. Tammy Story is running for reelection to House District 25. Rep. Story has been a dedicated advocate for public safety, public education, and health care throughout her tenure at the legislature.

Rep. Story has passed legislation to make higher education more accessible by fortifying the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship initiative and supported legislation to train a workforce for the energy sector. She also sponsored legislation to increase law enforcement accountability and to prevent the use of excessive force by police officers.

George B. Mumma Jr. is the Republican running against Representative Story. Mumma is an anti-tax, pro-voucher candidate who believes that suicide hotline operators are "grooming children" when they discuss matters of LGBTQ+ issues without parental involvement.

Rep. Tammy Story has the track record of helping Coloradans move forward. She is the clear progressive choice for House District 25.

Rep. Meghan Lukens is running for reelection in House District 26. Rep. Lukens grew up in Routt County and previously worked as a social studies teacher at Steamboat High School. She is also the former captain of the CU Boulder Women’s Ice Hockey team. Rep. Lukens serves on the Agriculture, Water & Natural Resources, Legislative Council, and Education Committees.

Rep. Lukens has worked to support families by promoting access to affordable housing, strengthening our education system, and developing Colorado’s economy. Lukens understands the need to protect public lands and the environment, stand up for reproductive freedom, and support small business. She has supported legislation to provide housing assistance for survivors of abuse, support educators, and to develop more childcare centers.

Challenging Lukens is Republican Nathan Butler. Butler is so pro-gun that he supports Constitutional Carry legislation which would allow for the unregulated purchase and carry of firearms. Butler is also running on a pro-oil and gas and anti-immigrant platform.

Lukens is the progressive running for Colorado House District 26.

State Rep. Brianna Titone is running for reelection to Colorado House District 27. Rep. Titone, first elected to the Colorado State House 2018, has brought her scientific background in technology and geology to public policy. As the first openly transgender woman to be elected to office in the state, she has fought tirelessly against anti-LGBTQ bills and ending discriminatory draconian policies against marginalized groups. Rep. Titone has fought for improved transportation infrastructure and access, equity in per-pupil public school funding, and advancing technology access for all with increased broadband. With a background in science, Titone has sponsored several climate resilience bills to reduce pollution, protect water quality, and boost energy efficiency.

Republican Ed Cox is challenging Rep. Titone.

Rep. Titone’s policies and record combined make her the unequivocal progressive in District 27.

Rep. Sheila Lieder is running for reelection to House District 28. As a long-time labor leader, Rep. Lieder is a champion for working Jefferson County families. Rep. Lieder has been a fixture in her community and the labor movement for years, including as a longtime volunteer for the Colorado Alliance of Retirees.

Rep. Lieder is running to continue her work on making Colorado more affordable for working families, protecting public education, saving Coloradans money on health care. She will protect abortion and reproductive rights and make Jefferson County safer. Rep. Lieder has sponsored legislation on housing accessibility, infrastructure improvements for public schools, and protections for working minors. Rep. Lieder has a proven track record of standing up for Coloradans.

Challenging Rep. Lieder is Republican, Peter Boddie. Boddie is a conservative that supports hateful anti-LGBTQIA+ and anti-diversity policies for schools. He is running on a pro gun, anti-immigration platform.

Rep. Sheila Lieder, will continue to represent working Coloradans in House District 28 and is the progressive choice.

Rep. Shannon Bird is seeking re-election for a fourth term in the Colorado State House District 29. Rep. Bird was first elected to the State House in 2018 after serving on the Westminster City Council, where she lives with her family.

Rep. Bird currently serves as Chair of the Joint Budget Committee and Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee. She has led the way in supporting small businesses through her Small Business Recovery Loan Program; cosponsored the $5.3 billion transportation package; fought for all day kindergarten and preschool; and signed on as a co-sponsor for the Reproductive Health Equity Act. Bird will continue to represent working families and small businesses and protect freedoms in the Colorado legislature.

Extremist right-wing Republican, Evan Hunt is challenging Representative Bird. Hunt opposes public health and seeks to expand the oil and gas industry as well as TABOR (Taxpayers Bill of Rights).

Rep. Bird is the progressive candidate running for House District 29.

Rebekah Stewart is running for House District 30. Stewart is a music therapist and healthcare advocate as well as a member of the Lakewood City Council.

At the legislature, Stewart will advocate for health care, reproductive justice, and renewable energy initiatives. As a therapist, she is a staunch supporter of increasing mental health resources in schools and law enforcement agencies. Stewart understands the vital need for mental health and social work co-responders working with law enforcement in mental health crisis situations. She supports LGBTQ+ rights and reducing gun violence.

Ramey Johnson, an anti-public education and pro-TABOR Republican is also running for House District 30. She also wants to see the expansion of law enforcement and reinstatement of "qualified immunity."

Rebekah Stewart is the progressive choice for House District 30.

Jacque Phillips is running for Colorado House District 31. Phillips knows the challenges faced by working Coloradans. While supporting a child, Phillips waited tables to pay her way through community college, eventually earning a doctorate at the University of Northern Colorado and a law degree at the University of Denver. She is committed to supporting issues such has affordable housing, reproductive freedom, and renewable energy initiatives. Phillips wants to increase the standard of living for all Coloradans and is dedicated to the development of quality jobs and reasonable salaries. She believes in Colorado's betterment through progressive ideas like inclusivity, determination, and acceptance.

Transphobic Republican Heidi Pitchforth is running against Phillips for House District 31. She is an anti-immigrant, police expansion conservative who supports false and racist anti-Latino sentiments.

Rep. Manny Rutinel is running for reelection in House District 32. Rep. Rutinel is a strong progressive and is running unopposed. He has sponsored legislation to support communities disproportionately affected by poor air quality, loan forgiveness, and accessibility to meetings held by local public bodies. He stands in support of reproductive rights and diversity, equity, and inclusion regardless of race, sex, age, religion, disability, nationality, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Rep. William Lindstedt is seeking reelection to House District 33. Prior to his service in the State House, Lindstedt was a member of the Broomfield City Council, where he was at the forefront of crucial growth planning and environmental protection issues. Since becoming a State Representative, Rep. Lindstedt has sponsored legislation for public transit reform, consumer protection in event ticket sales, and affordable housing programs. He is a proven advocate for House District 33.

Challenging Lindstedt is Michael Martinez of the Republican Party. Martinez supports TABOR (Taxpayers Bill of Rights) and the expansion of law enforcement.

Rep. William Lindstedt is the progressive for House District 33.

Rep. Jenny Willford is seeking reelection in House District 34. The former Mayor Pro Tem of Northglenn, Willford worked to provide family leave benefits to municipal employees while promoting affordable housing and addressing the threat of climate change. Prior to her election to the General Assembly, Rep. Willford was the Executive Director of Emerge Colorado, an organization dedicated to promoting women in elected office.

As a State Representative, Rep. Willford supported legislation to require permits for activities that impact air quality, provided access to child care assistance, and free menstrual products for students.

Pro-gun, anti- immigration, and TABOR expansionist, Craig Sullivan is the Republican running for House District 34. Sullivan supports gun ownership, immigration restrictions, Also running for the HD34 seat are Alexander "Skinny" Winkler of the Center Party and Mark Bromley who is unaffiliated.

Rep. Willford is the progressive leader running for House District 34.

Rep. Lorena Garcia is seeking reelection to Colorado House District 35. Garcia is a long-time nonprofit leader - who continues her work in organization for marginalized communities and standing up for working Colorado families. She is dedicated to celebrating diversity, increasing public school funding from pre-K to higher ed, and strengthening the economy. Rep. Garcia is a 7th generation Coloradan and understands the struggles faced by working Coloradans. She has helped lead the way on renewable energy initiatives and reproductive justice protections.

Rep. Garcia has also sponsored legislation to support birth equity in correctional facilities, integration programs for migrants, and protections for name changes to align with one's gender identity. She is a progressive champion for all Coloradans.

Republican, Lee Knoll is opposing Rep. Garcia, and does not have any public platform information.

Rep. Lorena Garcia is the progressive choice for House District 35.

Michael Carter is running to represent in House District 36. With a law degree from the University of Denver, Carter works as a public defender and a private criminal defense attorney. He has served as a member of the Aurora Public School board since 2021 and will fight for affordable housing, workers and unions, and criminal justice reform. Carter is also dedicated to improving public school education funding and ending gun violence through safe storage mandates and a ban on assault weapons.

Opposing Carter is Eric Mulder of the Forward Party.

Michael Carter is the strong and progressive choice for Colorado House District 36.

Rep. Chad Clifford is running for reelection to Colorado House District 37. Rep. Clifford is a dedicated advocate on issues such as affordable housing, public school education funding, and systemic inequality. He has been and will continue to be a prime sponsor on at least one bill regarding social issues and accessibility each legislative session. He is committed to sustainability, conservation, and equitable resource management. Rep. Clifford has sponsored legislation on protections for juvenile offenders, opportunities for disabled people, and the regulation of money transmitters like Applepay and Paypal.

Kevin Biehl is a write-in unaffiliated candidate for House District 37.

Rep. Clifford is the progressive choice for House District 37.

Gretchen Rydin is running for House District 38. Rydin is a Littleton City Council member, therapist, and social worker. She is an advocate for trauma and addiction recovery as well as for the LGBTQ+ community and refugees. Rydin promises to fight for equitable and accessible housing, small businesses, and arts and education funding. She chaired the Regional Opioid Council and directed more than $49M in funding for substance use prevention, treatment, harm reduction, recovery, and criminal justice programs in Arapahoe County. She also helped pass a inclusive housing ordinance in Littleton to ensure affordable housing as a part of new builds.

Opposing Rydin is a pro-gun candidate and TABOR (Taxpayers Bill of Rights) expansionist Jeffery Patty, of the Republican Party.

Gretchen Rydin is the progressive choice for House District 38.

Incumbent Rep. Naquetta Ricks has served Colorado House District 40 since 2020. Rep. Ricks resettled in Aurora, Colorado after fleeing the ongoing civil war in her native Liberia. She graduated from the University of Colorado with an MBA and serves on the House Business and Public Health Committees. Rep. Ricks was the prime sponsor of legislation to reform the practices of predatory towing companies.

Rep. Ricks' Republican opponent Darryl Gibbs is an Air Force Reserve veteran and former Denver Police officer. Gibbs is a right-wing, anti-LGBTQIA+ candidate, with the toxic Facebook mantra: "teach your boys to be men before their teachers teach them to be women," and claims "there's no such thing as an assault weapon."

Rep. Naquetta Ricks is the clear progressives running for Colorado House District 40.

Incumbent Rep. Iman Jodeh has represented Colorado House District 41 since 2020. Rep. Jodeh is the first Muslim ever elected to the Colorado General Assembly. Prior to winning election in 2020, Rep. Jodeh served as community liaison for the Interfaith Alliance of Colorado. She serves on the House Appropriations and Public & Behavioral Health Committees. The Council of State Governments chose Rep. Jodeh as one of the “20 Under 40” elected officials whose careers in public service show promise.

Rep. Jodeh's Republican opponent, Rob McKenna, has no experience in elective office and little information available other than having signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge to support congressional term limits, which already apply to members of the Colorado General Assembly.

Rep. Jodeh is the clear progressive choice to represent Colorado House District 41.

Pueblo native, Rep. Tisha Mauro, is running for reelection to Colorado House District 46. Rep. Mauro was raised on a farm near Boone, graduated from Pueblo County High School and from Colorado State University-Pueblo, and has been in the auto industry for 20 years as a finance manager and sales manager. Rep. Mauro seeks to fight for working families by creating better jobs, addressing public safety, protecting Colorado water, and investing in Colorado highways and roads. Rep. Mauro will continue her advocacy for laborers, having sponsored laws on towing carrier regulations and railroad safety requirements in the House of Representatives. Rep. Mauro is a supporter of reproductive rights and environmental protections.

Rocky Mountain Gun Owners candidate (“Pro 2A all day, everyday!”), Kim Swearington is challenging Representative Tisha Mauro. Swearington is also an anti-LGBTQIA+ candidate.

Rep. Tisha Mauro is the progressive candidate for Colorado House District 46.

Lesley Smith is running to represent House District 49. Smith has worked as a scientist and educator at CU for thirty years. Having served on the Boulder Valley School Board for eight years, and currently as a CU Regent At-Large, Smith has a long and successful history of leadership and service. After the 2013 floods, she served on the City of Boulder’s Water Resources Advisory Board to help rebuild and secure Boulder’s water infrastructure.

Smith is a fierce advocate for public education and hopes to secure funding for both K-12 and higher education institutions. As a scientist, Smith understands the importance of climate action and aims to help our state transition to renewable energy as well as to increase protections from wildfire, flooding, and drought. Smith supports both the ban on assault weapons and protecting abortion rights and reproductive freedom.

Opposing Smith is Steve Ferrante. Ferrante is a conservative, anti-LGBTQIA+ candidate, opposed to government funding of social welfare programs.

Lesley Smith is the progressive running for House District 49.

Rep. Mary Young is seeking re-election to the Colorado House District 50. Rep. Young was first elected in 2019 and has championed legislation that addresses the needs of working families and small businesses. Rep. Young currently serves as the Vice Chair to the Health and Human Services Committee and as a member of the Education Committee. Prior to joining the State House, Rep. Young spent her career serving as a school psychologist at schools around Greeley.

Rep. Young has spent her time in the State House working to reform education funding while addressing the mental health of students. She has sponsored legislation to provide advocates for children in foster care and state funding for higher education. Rep. Young also worked as part of the solution in providing COVID recovery assistance and support for working families.

Republican candidate Ryan Gonzalez is running again to attempt to unseat Rep. Young. A graduate of the far-right so-called "Leadership Program of the Rockies," Gonzales is pro-oil and gas and an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump.

Rep. Young is the progressive choice for House District 50.

Yara Zokaie is running to represent Colorado House District 52. Zokaie is a tax professional who has advocated for small businesses and now works as the Chief Deputy Assessor for Larimer County. She is a first generation Iranian American who knows the struggles of working families. As an activist, Zokaie worked with local moms and legislators to bring the importance of paid parental leave into the public eye.

Zokaie understands the harm that TABOR (Taxpayer Bill of Rights) has done to Colorado funding and working families. She supports a more a progressive tax code and the ending of tax loopholes for large corporations and the wealthy. Zokaie is also outspoken in her support of reproductive freedoms, LGBTQ+ protections, and criminal justice reform.

Zokaie is facing pro-gun and oil and gas-enthusiast Steve Yurash of the Center Party. The Center Party is made up of moderates who do not take strong stances on political matters.

Yara Zokaie is the progressive running to represent House District 52.

Rep. Andrew Boesnecker is running for re-election to the Colorado State House to represent House District 53. A former teacher and an ordained ELCA minister, Rep. Boesnecker has worked tirelessly for over a decade to bring the Ft. Collins and Larimer County communities together. Rep. Boesnecker has spent his tenure supporting environmental legislation such as SB181, championing public education, comprehensive health care, and recovery from COVID-19. In 2022, Rep. Boesnecker sponsored legislation requiring oil and gas reporting, protections for mobile home park residents, and culturally relevant training for health professionals.

Anti-media Republican Donna Walter is running again to represent House District 52. She has refused to speak to news sources about her platform, though has said on Twitter that she hopes to avoid the "Bidenism" that has failed America.

Rep. Boesnecker is the progressive choice for House District 53.

Elizabeth Velasco is running for reelection to Colorado House District 57. A small business owner and the daughter of immigrants, Rep. Velasco has lived in Pitkin, Eagle, and Garfield counties for over 20 years. An experienced community leader and advocate, Velasco served as a Public Information Officer for Wildland Fire. She has worked in the service, healthcare, nonprofit, and local government industries. Rep. Velasco has championed solutions to climate change, lowered costs for working families, increased access to health care, supported immigrant rights, and funded small business development. As a State Representative, she has sponsored bills regarding public knowledge of hazardous chemicals released through oil and gas operations, rights for mobile home owners, and the secure storage of firearms in motor vehicles.

Opposing Velasco is Republican Caleb Waller. Waller seeks an anti-public education "Parental Bill of Rights" that would allow individual parents the ability to control the statewide public education curriculum. He also supports TABOR (Taxpayers Bill of Rights) expansion and opposes regulation and accountability for oil and gas corporations.

Rep. Velasco is the progressive choice for House District 57.

Kathleen Curry is running for Colorado House District 58. Curry is a Colorado native and previously served as a representative and Chair of the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee from 2005-2011. She sponsored bills regarding water, agriculture, oil and gas, wildlife, and budget issues. After her time at the Capitol, Curry started a small business as a governmental affairs consultant, as well as a lobbyist and in selling her family's local grass fed beef. She is returning to the General Assembly to continue advocating for the people of the Western Slope.

Running against Curry is Republican Larry Don Suckla. Suckla claims to not "know anything about being a state legislator."

Kathleen Curry believes in the positive, collaborative, capabilities of communities and government.

Rep. Eliza Hamrick is running for reelection to Colorado House District 61. Rep. Hamrick is a retired public school history and government teacher. She also helped found Teachers United for Immigrant Rights to support immigrant students and families. Additionally, she has served as a vaccination advocate through the Colorado Vaccine Equity Taskforce.

Rep. Hamrick has focused on public education, health and safety, and creating thriving communities. Rep. Hamrick supports legislation to end gun violence and protect reproductive freedoms. She has supported important environmental protections and economic development strategies that serve all Coloradans.

Rep. Hamrick is opposed by Libertarian Joe Johnson. Johnson opposes government tax incentives for economic growth and development and government aid in lowering the cost of healthcare.

Rep. Eliza Hamrick is a proven progressive leader seeking re-election to House District 61.
