Andrew Hernandez III

Hernandez III is an Assistant Professor of Latin American Studies in the Social Sciences and Cultural Studies Department at Western New Mexico University. Previously, he served as former director for Western New Mexico University’s Deming Campus, and was also twice elected to the Deming Public Schools Board of Education.
His priorities include infrastructure improvements, enabling an increase in our share of international trade with Mexico, and expanding education access, including making the costs of vocational, technical, and university education more affordable. Additional priorities include improving eligibility standards for Medicaid for senior citizens and increasing funding for resources for children, with a focus on foster care.
