Citizen Action Wisconsin

Citizen Action of Wisconsin organizes people to make Wisconsin a better place to live and work. Citizen Action employs an integrated strategy of grassroots organizing, public education, earned media, professional research, voter engagement, and political lobbying to advance progressive values and shape the public and political debate around health care, economic development, and consumer protection. Every year, Citizen Action generates hundreds of media stories, mobilizes thousands of citizens to participate in political advocacy, and engages hundreds of thousands of voters.

City District Races

Depending on where you live, you may have the below city district races on your ballot.

  • Jon Shelton is a UW-Green Bay professor and president of UWGB-United, the faculty and staff labor union. He also serves as a member of city's Equal Right Commission and as a board member for a resource center serving immigrants and refugees in Green Bay. As candidate for city council, Shelton promises to represent the progressive, inclusive values of his community as well as to fight for affordable housing, support local election workers in their work administering our elections, and to prioritize sustainability measures. Shelton's values and his proven track record of advocacy have earned him the support of numerous progressive organizations in this race. Candidate Bill Galvin is also a candidate for city council in District 4, but Shelton is the more progressive choice in this race.
